The Sankei Seminar participated in the 8th Chue Marche held in Nakae-cho in collaboration with Hiroshima Shudo University and others.Hachioji Campus

On Saturday, November 29, 2025, the 8th Chue Marche was held in Nakae-cho, Miyajima-cho, Hatsukaichi City, Hiroshima Prefecture, with the seminar of Teikyo University's Associate Professor of Faculty of Economics, Department Department of Business Administration, led by Kohei Mikami, and Hachioji Campus entrepreneurial club "Start-Up" jointly participating. Nakae-cho is located behind Itsukushima Shrine and boasts a rich history and traditional streetscape, designated as an Important Preservation District for Groups of Traditional Buildings by the Agency for Cultural Affairs. Chue Marche is an event planned and run by local residents and students who want to revitalize Nakae-cho. It is organized by the Nakae-cho Revitalization Council and held at Miyajima Guesthouse Mikuniya.
Starting in 2022, the Sankei seminar has been collaborating with students participating in the "Miyajima Tourism Revitalization Project - Creating a new Miyajima together with Nakae Town" project, an adopted project of Hiroshima Shudo University's "Community Connection Project" *, to revitalize Miyajima and Nakae Town, and has been coordinating and preparing to hold a joint market this year as well.
Last year's Chue Marche was held during the day, but this year's Marche was dubbed a Night Marche, with the goal of conveying the charms of Miyajima in the evenings. The students came up with ideas for "hashimaki," a staple food at festivals in the Kyushu and Chugoku regions, and a pork soup made with plenty of miso and pork from Hiroshima Prefecture, and after repeated trial production, they sold them. They also planned a kendama experience session, which originated in Hatsukaichi City, and worked hard to create an event where participants could experience the history and charms of Hiroshima and Miyajima with all five senses. On the day of the Marche, the prepared hashimaki and pork soup were sold out, and the students were able to interact with locals and tourists from Japan and abroad, with smiles on their faces.
Sato Hima (3rd year, Faculty Faculty of Economics), project leader of the Sankei Seminar, which carried out this project, commented, "This Marché started in the evening, so I was worried whether many customers would come, but on the day, not only tourists but also many locals came, which made me very happy. I learned the difficulty and importance of working together." In addition, Terasawa Junya of Miyajima Guesthouse Mikuniya, who is in charge of organizing the Chué Marché, said, "The warmth and hard work of everyone at Teikyo University really gave us energy. Thank you very much for this year."
Starting with the Chue Marche Project, our university is working to promote Practical learning entrepreneurship education in which students take the initiative in solving local issues. We will continue to strengthen social collaboration and Industry-Academia-Government Collaboration, and contribute to regional revitalization by connecting the university's knowledge to society, and disseminate the results of our education and research aimed at solving the many social issues that are piling up.
