At the WPA-certified 30th Japan ID Athletics Championships (and Para Athletics Record Meet) held at the Gifu Memorial Head of Center Stadium (Gifu City, Gifu Prefecture) on Saturday, July 19th and Sunday, July 20th, 2025, Nanami Saeki (4th year, Faculty of Law) of Teikyo University's Athletics Club broke new Japanese records in the 400m (T35) and long jump (T35).
Saeki commented, "I had a lot of big competitions in July, and I had never even run the 400m in practice, so I was worried about whether I would be able to finish the race, but the cheers from the people who helped me gave me strength and I was able to finish the race. I will continue to work hard on my rehabilitation and training with the goal of breaking the Japanese records in the 100m, 400m, and long jump."
The next event they will compete in is the WPA-sanctioned Hokkaido-Tohoku Para Athletics Championships, which will be held at Koriyama Hirose Kaiseiyama Stadium (Koriyama City, Fukushima Prefecture) on Saturday, September 20th and Sunday, September 21st.
