Itabashi CampusFaculty of Medical Technology Senior Assistant Professor Haruhiko Hoshino awarded the title of Teikyo University venture company

On Thursday, January 9, 2025, the Teikyo University Teikyo Technology Transfer Center held the fifth Teikyo University Venture Title Award Ceremony at the Teikyo University Itabashi Campus, awarding the fifth title to Vital Signs Inc. (hereinafter "Vital Signs"), a venture company of the university. The university awards the title of this corporation to university-originated venture companies that are established using the university's intellectual property, research results, or human resources.

Senior Assistant Professor Hoshino, who received the award this time, has worked as an ICU nurse for over 14 years, deepened her expertise in nursing education through research activities at Graduate School, and obtained a PhD (Medicine). Currently, in addition to contributing to society through nursing education in vital signs, she is also in charge of part of the Advanced Practice Nurse (NP) course education that will be newly established in April, and continues to conduct research activities at the university while working as a teacher at the university and as a nurse at the affiliated hospital, striving to enrich nursing education.

Through his field experience and research, Senior Assistant Professor Hoshino realized the importance of education in the career development of nurses, and founded Vital Signs, Inc. in 2024. After becoming a nurse, there are challenges in completing graduation education and career advancement. In order to solve such challenges, Vital Signs provides services mainly centered on seminars and is committed to educating nurses. In addition, by ultimately improving the quality of nurses, we also aim to improve the quality of care for patients.

At the award ceremony, Head of Center Professor Hodaka Nakanishi, Chairman President Yoshihito Okinaga of TUFS presented the title to Senior Assistant Professor Hoshino, the representative director of Vital Signs. Okinaga Chairman President said, "I feel that it is important to strengthen the support for medical personnel and enhance the capabilities of individual medical personnel.
Senior Assistant Professor Hoshino and Vital Signs are expected to continue to contribute to improving the quality of medical human resource education, especially for nurses.
